'Caravan' is a jazz standard composed by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington, with lyrics later added by Irving Mills. First introduced in 1936 by the Duke Ellington Orchestra, it quickly became one of the most distinctive pieces in the jazz repertoire thanks to its exotic harmonic colour, driving rhythm, and unforgettable melody.
