The Girl from Ipanema is one of the most iconic bossa nova recordings of all time. This version comes from the landmark album Getz/Gilberto, recorded in 1963 and released in 1964, which brought bossa nova to an international audience.

The recording features Stan Getz on tenor saxophone, João Gilberto on guitar and vocals, Antônio Carlos Jobim on piano, and Astrud Gilberto on vocals. Astrud’s understated English vocal debut became a defining element of the track and helped turn the song into a worldwide hit.
